American Hostages hightailing it for the Canadian Embassy
Argo is based on the true CIA rescue mission to get six Americans out of Iran who managed to escape to the Canadian Embassy and hide out when the American Embassy had been over run and 52 Americans were taken hostage on November 4, 1979.

CIA Operative Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) briefs hostages

The plot was to create a fake movie and have the six Americans pose as Canadian film makers and fly them out. As incredible as this story sounds, it worked. This is a film that will keep you on the edge of your seat while you keep saying to yourself, this can’t be true! I predict no less than five Oscar® nods for this masterpiece including “Best Picture” and “Best Director” for Ben Affleck!
