Movie Review - Magic Mike

Here we have a project that is over rated with the pre-release hype. The dancers are pretty much so-so with no real rhythmic or captivating moves. The story line is weak with no thrills, elements of danger, car chases, or anything that will hold your attention. The strip scenes are the “only” reason the ladies flocked to this dud of a movie!

Movie Review - Spider Man

This version begins a new series of Spider Man movies by explaining the beginnings of the Peter Parker story and how he became Spider Man. The original trio of Sam Raimi as the film’s director, Tobey Maguire as Spiderman and Kirsten Dunst as his girlfriend Mary Jane Watson all left the franchise while the fourth film was in negotiations.

Raimi reportedly wanted 300 million to shoot needed sets for battle scenes but Sony reportedly only appropriated a measly 230 million. While Maguire reportedly didn’t want to go back to high school as the script called for.

Sony and Marvel obviously were headed in a new direction and it seems to have worked.

The new story line is good, the action riveting and the aerial photography is breath taking! This one is a winner!

Movie Review - Bully

If you have ever been a victim of a school bully, this film will boil your blood. The Motion Picture Association of America has fought with the film’s producers and company about rating the movie “R” because of the cruelty and violence that some young people perpetrate on their less protected classmates.

However, the producers argue that students of all ages must see this film and learn from it. “Bully” clearly showcases the loop holes in school security that put thousands of students at risk and in some extreme cases life threatening situations where school administrators turn a blind eye or there are no specific guidelines or set policies to deal with serious offenders. This documentary pulls no punches and is a “must see” for youth and parent discussion groups when it comes out on DVD.
