L-R Jordin Sparks and the late Whitney Houston
Regretably this was the late, vocal great Whitney Houston's last film made. This as a period piece takes place in Detroit during the 60’s Motown era.

L-R Tika Sumpter, Carmen Ejogo & Jordin Sparks
The film makers do authentically capture the look, feel and the music of the 60’s motor city music scene. The cast is brilliant from the sexy trio of sisters i.e., Sumpter, Ejogo and Sparks to the dynamic support from Epps, Luke and Hardwick. With this being her film debut; Jordin Sparks will definitely emerge as a legit star from this one! A must see!

Starring Chris Rock, Julie Delpy, Alexia Landeau, Alex Nahon, and Albert Delpy. Directed by Julie Delpy. Written by Julie Delpy and Alex Nahon. Produced by Christophe Mazodier.

Chris Rock & Julie Delpy
Mingus (Rock) and Marion (Delpy) are living happily ever after in their NY apartment with their two children from previous relationships when her dad, sister and her bone head boyfriend pop in unannounced from Paris.

Mingus (Rock) & father-in-law Jeannot (Albert Delpy)
With all of these companies throwing money in the collection pot to make this film, they should have come up with something better than this! The humor is part French and American and doesn’t jell at all. The film is too slow, boring and pointless. This one is better suited for middle-of-the-night TV when you can’t sleep.

*Such A Waste Of My Time! (You Are SO Kicked Off)!

Total Recall. Columbia Pictures. Starring Colin Farrell, Bryan Cranston, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, Bill Nighy and John Cho. Produced and Directed by Len Wiseman.

Colin Farrell
Rekall is a company that can turn your dreams into a real memory. Doug Quaid (Farrell) is not having such a good life so he goes to recall for an escape and gets more than he bargains for when he finds out he is a trained spy.

Jessica Biel & Colin Farrell

This film is more head trip orientated than the original. The  dark  futuristic scenes, fight sequences and action keep this one interesting.

***Good! (Ride In The Middle)!

Movie Review -The Babymakers

 Movie Review - The Babymakers

By Rych McCain International/Nationally Syndicated Entertainment columnist

The Babymakers. Millennium Films, Alliance Films and BH Productions. Starring Paul Schneider, Olivia Munn, Kevin Heffernan, Wood Harris, Nat Faxon, Aisha Taylor and Collette Wolfe. Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar. Written by Peter Gaulke and Gerry Swallow. Produced by Jason Blum, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Jay Chandrasekhar.

Paul Schneider & Olivia Munn
Here we have your typical “can’t-have-a-baby” couple so the impotent hubby goes through several comedy driven scenarios to get his wife pregnant. Some of the areas are stretched out a little too much but the film is funny enough to compensate for it.
